Finance Education Centre Launches Intermediate Credit Skills Course to Meet Growing Industry Demand
The Finance Education Centre (FEC) is pleased to announce the launch of its Intermediate Credit Skills course, further strengthening its suite of specialist training designed to support professional development across the asset finance sector.
The Intermediate Credit Skills course forms part of FEC’s wider Credit Skills programme, which also includes Credit Skills Core and Credit Skills Advanced. The courses can be taken individually or as a structured learning pathway, allowing delegates to select the level most appropriate to their existing knowledge, experience and career stage.
Designed for professionals looking to deepen and enhance their credit capability, the Intermediate course builds on foundational knowledge and focuses on the practical application of credit assessment within real-world asset finance environments. It supports those working in, or aspiring to progress within, underwriting, risk, relationship management and related roles.
Credit skills remain essential across the asset finance industry, with a substantial proportion of roles explicitly requiring strong credit and risk expertise. Current recruitment trends highlight particularly strong demand for professionals with real-world portfolio experience, alongside the ability to interpret financial statements, analyse collateral and assess risk effectively. Roles such as Credit Underwriter, Asset Finance Relationship Director and Risk Analyst or Manager consistently cite credit capability as a core requirement. Employers are actively seeking candidates with strong analytical skills, sound knowledge of credit policies and experience across structured finance, leasing and lending.
Commenting on the launch, Yusuf Laher, National Training Manager at the Finance Education Centre, said:
“Credit skills are consistently one of our top three most popular training topics. We wanted to create a range of courses that are suitable for professionals at all stages of their career who want to enhance their knowledge in this critically important area. By offering Core, Intermediate and Advanced options, delegates and businesses can choose a learning pathway that genuinely supports their development needs.”
The Intermediate Credit Skills course reflects FEC’s ongoing commitment to delivering industry-relevant, practical training that aligns closely with market demands and supports long-term career progression.
